Asher Lehrer-Small is an Editorial Fellow at The 74. Prior to covering national news, he studied education policy at Brown University, where he completed and published a thesis on the effectiveness and implementation of personalized learning in Vermont. He’s previously worked as a summer classroom instructor, most recently working with 8th-grade math students in Providence, Rhode Island. His published portfolio includes articles on personalized learning and coverage of a new model of research-practice partnerships between universities and local districts for such outlets as Indy Magazine, the Brown Political Review and the Brown Daily Herald.
