Education Secretary Betsy DeVos appeared at the White House coronavirus briefing Friday, addressing the waivers that have already been issued to 46 states concerning standardized tests, encouraging districts to urgently develop plans for distance learning, and surfacing a new proposal for “microgrants” that could aid both teachers and students in pursuing new methods and mechanisms for teaching and learning.
