The 74 Unveils a Bold New Look

We’ve overhauled the site to make our journalism easier to read, easier to share and easier to discover

Welcome to The NEW 74!

You’ve probably noticed by now that a few things have changed with The 74. Well, more than a few things.

For the past year, we’ve been working on a complete overhaul of The 74 website and our mobile site. Our overriding aim was to introduce a website design whose look and feel reflects the same sense of urgency and humanity that our journalism offers to readers every day.

We also wanted to make the process of reading The 74 easier and more enjoyable. Headlines are bolder, shorter and easier to read; our latest news stories are clearly marked on our front page and easy to scroll through and click on; and the most important topics of the day are easily accessed in the “Explore” bar right under The 74 nameplate on most pages of the site.

Equally important, a single button tap will take you to our latest opinion articles, our collection of documentary videos, and our “About” section, which tells you everything you need to know about the people who put together this publication, the donors who fund it and the principles that guide our coverage of K-12 education.

We’ve also made it easier to donate to our nonprofit newsroom. (And if you like the changes that we’ve made here, today would be a GREAT great to help support the work of our journalists.)

Also, because so many of The 74’s readers enjoy our work on their mobile devices, we’ve paid extra attention to our smartphone design, with bolder headlines, more readable text, more sharing options and more intuitive navigation.

But one thing hasn’t changed. That’s our journalism. You’ll still be able to turn to The 74 to find the nation’s most compelling coverage of the biggest issues in education, today and every day.

We are super-excited about these changes. We believe the new design will be a better showcase for our journalism and a way to attract new readers. But we really want to know what you think.

Take some time this week to browse the new site. Look at The 74 on your smartphone. And send your thoughts to feedback@the74million.org

And thank you for supporting The 74.
