The path from high school to college is about to get more personalized with a new partnership between College Board and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative that was announced Tuesday.
The two-year, multimillion-dollar plan is meant to expand programs and services that typically only wealthier students can afford to millions of economically disadvantaged and rural kids:
  • Targeted tutoring — The online nonprofit Khan Academy lets students sync their PSAT results with free online tutoring targeting the subject areas where they need help.
  • College advisory — The College Advising Corps connects high school students with recent college graduates, many of whom were the first in their family to attend college and can advise students in similar circumstances.
  • Advanced Placement exams — The new AP Computer Science Principles course will be expanded to every school district.
